RIDE ITINERARY

Day 1 - Sunday
Meeting to Bastia Airport or Bastia port. Transfer to the riding centre in Corte (1h drive from the airport and 1h30 drive from the port). Welcome dinner to the guesthouse, introduction to the ride and night in bungalow or guesthouse.

Day 2 - Monday
After a morning breakfast, meeting point is given at 8:30 am to the stables. We prepare our horses for our first ride. Today, the steps of our horses lead us in the scrub land where we have a picnic lunch (carried on our saddlebags). We get back into the saddle and leave near cortenais villages. Then, we return in the guesthouse for the dinner and night.

Day 3 - Tuesday

Today, the ride leads us on the heights overhanging the banks of the river Tavignano, before getting for the lunch, a magnificent point of picnic, licked by transparent waters. After some bathings in the river, it is time to return on Corte. Dinner and night.

Day 4 - Wednesday

Our trip leads us on a ride through Boziu today. In this pastoral region, we leave on the meeting of the free herds... We discover typical images and atmosphere. We return then for the dinner and the night .

Day 5 - Thursday

This morning, we get into the saddle and leave for a new day of horseback ride. This one takes place in the heart of an amazing chestnut grove which we discover hours by hours. The quality of this symbolic fruit of the Island of Beauty, base of the local food, is nowadays recognized internationally. Dinner and night.

Day 6 - Friday

Today is a long day to reach the entrance of the Agriates Desert. This area is big as 16 000 hectares and only its name is desert, because it was in the past the breadbasket. Today, it always keeps his numerous low houses of dry rocks used as accommodation or wheat stock, or shelter for cattle Then, we come gat to the stables. Dinner and night.

Day 7 - Saturday
After breakfast, transfer to Bastia airport or Bastion port.

Important : The route is communicated as a rough guide and can be modified without advance notice for safety reasons, of meteorology or accessibility. However, we shall make all the necessary efforts to preserve the interest of the route if modifications must be brought.

This trail is guided by an experienced and qualified guide. He leaves all year long in Corsica and knows this region better than everyone else. He'll make you discover is own Island of Beauty .

Logistic

Our support vehicle will join you every evenings with your luggage and sometimes during lunch time.

Maximum luggage weight : 20kg.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation

This trail is set in a particularly wild environment, but with comfortable accommodations in guesthouse, shelters (dormitory) during the low season. Take your sleeping bag with you anyway.

Meals

For lunch, picnic will be taken from saddlebags. Dinners will be hot meals. You'll have the opportunity to taste local specialties (cooked pork meats, cheeses and local alcohols).

DATES AND RATES

- the trail ride as described in full board basis, including wine during meals,

- the transfers from and to Bastia airport or port at required time schedules,

- Total and unlimited financial guarantee (APS) of all payments made to us (see "why ride with us ?"),

- Protection of the French Law for travel consumers who book through French travel agencies (see "why ride with us ?").

GENERAL INFORMATION

Meeting point to Bastia airport or Bastia port.

Transfers are organized from the airport or the port as follow : 1 shuttle is planned and go to Port and Airport, on 05.00pm at the airport and on 05.30pm at the harbor.
The last day, you'll be drop back after breakfast at 9.00am, and will arrive at the airport on 10.00am and 10.30am at the harbor. You can take a flight leaving on 12.00

HEALTH

There are no specific health formalities and emergency medical treatment is as widely available in the country.

ENTRY FORMALITIES

A valid passport is required of all foreigners entering France, except people living from a Schengen agreement country for who a valid ID card is enough.

All foreign citizens who wish to come to France must be able to present regulatory proof of the purpose of their stay, means of support and accommodation. In some cases, they need a visa to enter France. Visas must be applied for before leaving for France at a French consular office.

France is a member of European Union. No visa is required for citizens of other EU states.

No visa is required for US visitors staying less than 3 months.
