On the beach in Medoc - RIDE IN FRANCE


We invite you to discover the Armagnac country, near Eauze.

You can choose between four different trails from 2 to 7 days :

- D'Artagnan trail (7 days, 6 nights)
- Armagnac country trail (5 days, 4 nights)

D'Artagnan trail


This trail will take you through the breathtaking landscapes of this well-known region. This is a center based trip.

Day 1 - Saturday
Arrival around 6 pm. Presentation of the trail, horses, and guide.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 - Sunday
Today we ride towards Séviac, where we visit the Gallo-Roman villa. Then, we stop for lunch near the lake. In the afternoon, we go through Fourcès, one of the most beautiful villages of France, and we finally visit a duck farm. The horses stay here for the night, but riders go back to the gite.


Day 3 - Monday
For our second horse riding day, we reach and visit Laressingle, a fortified town. We ride along the Baïse river and the route of Santiago de Compostela. Then, we enter the Lomagne territory, where we can enjoy a 360° view over the valley, the sunflowers fields, and the Pyrenees.


Day 4 - Tuesday
Today, we go to Lectoure, an ancient medieval city, which has become a famous spa and touristic town. The "Gascogne Heart" path takes us to La Romieu and its wonderful collegiate church.
Dinner and overnight in the Ancient Couvent's gite.


Day 5 - Wednesday
After a good breakfast, it's time to ride to Condom and discover the amazing Musketeers' statue. After a lunch in the countryside, we reach Flaran Abbey. We have the chance to visit it at the end of the day. The horses stay here and we are driven back to the gite for a good dinner.


Day 6 - Thursday

Today, for our last day of trail, we ride through Busca-Maniban castle and Gondrin. There, we discover the magnificient wash house and the mysterious Tonneteau sanctuary, before riding back to the farm through the Green Route.

Day 7 - Friday

Departure after breakfast.

 


 

Armagnac country trail

If you enjoy galloping, beautiful landscapes and good food : this trail is made for you ! You can discover the region while riding and tasting local specialities.

Day 1

Day 2 - Sunday

Horses and riding level

Horses
There are 25 horses : lusitanians, appaloosas, paint horses, and French saddle horses.
You can easily find a horse adapted to your level.

Tack

Australian and western saddles are used. Saddle bags are provided.

Riding experience
All riders should be able to canter in open spaces and be in good physical shape to ride approximately 6 hours per day.

Novice riders can choose the Gers discovery weekend.

Useful informations

-Maximum weight : 90 kg (198 lb)
- Maximum height : 1m85.
-Minimum age: 15 years old with accompanying person.
-The helmet is mandatory. It can be provided on site.

Non-riders can come during the weekends.

The local team

After travelling a lot, Odile and Didier have chosen this region 6 years ago.
They love the patrimony, landscapes, nice weather and local gastronomy of the region and will make you discover that "Happiness is in the Gers" !

Accommodation



You will be accommodated in dormitory, in a typical Gascon house.

You can choose a private room (single or double) with a supplement.


Catering
Lunches are brought by the back-up vehicle (cold meal and water), and dinners are taken at the cottage. They are made with typical products of the region.
Drinks are included during dinners : water, wine, and fruit juices.
Vegetarian meals available.

Language: English / French / Spanish speaking guide.

Group size: from 2 to 8

Closest airport / train station:
Meeting at the riding center.

Transfers from / to Toulouse train station or airport : 30€ / way / person, to be paid on site.

Weekends : you need one supplementary night before day 1 and one after day 2 if you want a transfer.

If you arrive by train : arrival between 4pm and 7pm on day 1, and departure from 10:30am.

If you arrive by plane, arrival between 4pm and 7pm on day 1, and departure from 12am.
