RIDE ITINERARY
Riding in winter in the snow is a rare experience. You will enjoy
very different feelings, and discover an incredible landscape
of frozen lakes and white forests. Our strong horses are perfectly
adapted to this rough environment.
These trails depend on climatic conditions : a pass can be opened
one day, and closed the day after.
That's why the daily itinerary - between 15 and 20 km - is not
scheduled and depends on the conditions we meet. Opportunities
of experiencing great riding moments are always the target, in
High-Jura as well as in lakes area.
We organize 2 days weekends on horseback during all the
winter period.
The meeting point is given on day one at 9 am to the riding center on saturday. The ride ends the sunday around 5 pm.
If you come by train, you'll have to arrive one day earlier, to be ready the morning of day 1.

HORSES, TACK AND RIDING EXPERIENCE
Horses
The ranch owns 15 horses of many races: spanish horses, haflingers, barb horses, camargue horses, arabian poneys....
Tack
The saddles are English trail saddles with little hackamores. Saddle bags are provided.
Recommended riding level
Riders have to be confident at all gaits and have a good staminia.
Useful information
Wearing a riding hat is obligatory.
Children can come from 16 years without their parent. But they are allowed from 12
if children are with their parents. Non riders are welcomed.
Max weight : 100kg.
YOUR GUIDES
Anne-Sophie, qualified equestrian guide, lives in Jura all the year. She will make you dicover her beautiful and rich area in total security.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation
Confortable but simple cottages and wooden houses (rooms from 3 to 4 people). Blankets are provided but you have to take your own sleeping bag. We can't offer you a single room.
Meals
Every morning, you'll leave with the picnic in your saddle bags. And picnic lunch will be take in nice places along the ride. Succulent and traditionnal dinners will be served at the accommodation. Breakfast are also included.

If you want to arrive one day before departure, or leave the Jura Mountains one day after the end of the trail, we can book one extra night in guesthouse for you. This extra have to be paid directly. |

- return transfers from and to the train station "Lons le Saunier",

- any other services or optional visit entries, personal expenses,

- a tour to discover other regions of France before or after the
trail (castle life, golf training, thalassotherapy spas...), see

GENERAL INFORMATION
DURATION
2 days / 1 nights / 2 days on horseback
LANGUAGE
English / French speaking guide.
GROUP SIZE
2 to 8 riders.
MEETING POINT
The meeting point or transfers since stations SNCF of "Lons le Saunier" (70 € to be paid directly for return transfers).
You have to plan systematically the night before the trail in cottage if you arrive by train.
The trail begings at 9 am from the riding school. Departure for those who arrive with their own vehicle around 5 pm the last day, (possibility of taking the train of 5:34 pm for others).
CLIMATE
In winter, temperatures can be quite low : take warm and water resistant coats and boots.
HEALTH
There are no specific health formalities and emergency medical treatment is as widely available in the country.
ENTRY FORMALITIES
A valid passport is required of all foreigners entering France, except people living from a Schengen agreement country for who a valid ID card is enough.
All foreign citizens who wish to come to France must be able to present regulatory proof of the purpose of their stay, means of support and accommodation. In some cases, they need a visa to enter France. Visas must be applied for before leaving for France at a French consular office.
France is a member of European Union. No visa is required for citizens of other EU states.
No visa is required for US visitors staying less than 3 months.
