FRANCE - NORMANDY : HORSEBACK TRAIL IN THE PERCHE HILLS...

You are looking for a horseback trail starring only you, your friend, a group of friends or family... This exclusive ride in the Perche region is for you! We propose several packages, on three, four, or five days to discover this natural and historical territory settled into the hills...   The Perche is an old country of wet hills being now a regional natural reserve, located some kilometers away from Western Paris. The equestrian farm is situated only 130 km from Paris : it is the ideal place to go off to explore this territory, during a private ride for a weekend, on horses selected for their good temper and amazing stamina !

RIDE ITINERARY

Day 1
Meeting at the equestrian farm in the end of afternoon, before 07:00pm or at Nogent Le Rotrou train station. After having settled in our room, we visit the farm with Valérie and then meet the horses. You can then find the horse who suits you best for the trail ride. Dinner at the farm, cooked by Marc with farm products.
Night in the guesthouse.

Day 2 to 5 (according to the chosen package)

Itineraries are defined by Valérie according to the equestrian level of the group and the climatic conditions. Several trails from 25 to 40 km long are possible from the farm to discover bocages and the woody hills of the territory, classified regional natural reserve. During the trail, we discover the exceptional architectural heritage of the region in the small villages, with their romanic churches, manor houses and castles.
Riding through the countryside, we appreciate the rich fauna and flora and the impressive percheron horse (the emblem of the territory). Each day we bring our picnic and as we have a small group it gives us freedom to adapt circuits and make our midday break in the middle of nowhere. If the weather is not convenient for a picnic, lots of half-day tracks allow us to go back to the farm for lunch.
Individual departure on the last day from 05:30pm. If you travel by train please plan your return after 06:00pm.
Approximately 5 to 6 hours a day in saddle.

HORSES, TACK AND RIDING EXPERIENCE

Horses On these rides we use various horses. Arabian, Portuguese horses, Anglo-Arab, Connemara or New-Forest horses... Most of them have Arabic blood which brings them liveliness. All our horses are docile and very well educated. You will necessarily find the horse you are looking for!   Tack We use English saddles or trail saddles without pommel. Saddle pads with pockets are provided.. We also have a western saddle, if you prefer this saddle, please tell us at booking.   Recommended riding experience For this trail you should be confident at all paces. You also need a bit of stamina to be able to ride from 5 to 6 hours a day. To know Accompagnied children are welcome from 12 years if they have the required level. Non riders are welcome. Maximum weight : 90kg. Helmet is compulsory on this destination.

YOUR GUIDES

Our guide Valérie has lived in this region for 10 years now. Fond of horses since childhood Valérie and Marc met each other 20 years ago. In 2001 they decided to settle in the Perche region.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation Riders sleep on the first floor of the farm. There is a vast room with bathroom (which can welcome to 6 persons) and a second room (with sleepings for 4 persons). Made of authentic materials and spirit these rooms offer all the charm of a guesthouse classified 3 "épis" in French holiday cottages. No accommodation in single room.   Meals For lunch we take a picinic. For Diner, Marc who is a good cook will make you discover our farm products. We can also prepare adapted meals (vegetarian or food allergies) if requested at booking.

GENERAL INFORMATION

HEALTH

There are no specific health formalities and emergency medical treatment is as widely available in the country.

ENTRY FORMALITIES

A valid passport is required of all foreigners entering France, except people living from a Schengen agreement country for who a valid ID card is enough.

All foreign citizens who wish to come to France must be able to present regulatory proof of the purpose of their stay, means of support and accommodation. In some cases, they need a visa to enter France. Visas must be applied for before leaving for France at a French consular office.

France is a member of European Union. No visa is required for citizens of other EU states.

No visa is required for US visitors staying less than 3 months.
