PROVENCE: Stationary Riding tour (high season)

RIDE IN FRANCE - Stationary equestrian holidays in Provence - Luberon. OK for novice riders and beginners

This program is an introduction to trail riding. The discovery of the beautiful landscapes of the Luberon regional natural park makes the beginners' fears disappear.
The kindness of the horses allows the riders to quickly improve their riding level and feel more confident at all gaits (walk trot and canter).

A two day itinerant riding tour at the end of the stay will give you a taste of horseback travelling.

Day 1 - Sunday
Meeting point at Marseille airport, Aix-en-Provence train station, or directly at the starting point of the riding tour from 6pm. Installation, introduction to the guide and the riding tour and dinner at the Mas (a Provencal farm).

Day 2 - Monday: Discover horse riding
The week will start with explanations on how to take care of your horse.
After saddleing, you will get more acquainted with your horse on a short ride in the surrounding area.
After lunch at the Mas, discover the hills of the « Small Luberon», covered by a dense oak trees forest. We will ride for about 1.5 hours, the rest of the afternoon is spent relaxing before having a nice dinner all together at the Mas. Night in the guesthouse/dormitory.

Day 3 - Tuesday
Today, we have a whole day riding ! In the morning, you will ride through a pine trees forest, and make your way down towards the Durance valley. Discover the Durance river and its clear waters. The river banks will be ideal for small canters, and will soon lead you to a beautiful lunch area, in a nice shady spot, right by the river!
Before leaving again, enjoy a well deserved nap under a tree or have a swim with your horse... The choice is yours! The afternoon ride will lead you back to the Mas through forests, vineyards and cherry orchards. Dinner and night at the Mas.

Day 4 - Wednesday
This morning is off and you have the possibility to have a trip in the minibus to visit Lourmarin. Lunch at your own expense in one of the many small restaurants. In the afternoon, you will ride to a wine cellar, among olive trees and vineyards to a local wine producer close to the Mas. Stop to taste the local Luberon Wine, a Robert Parker selection!
Dinner and overnight at the Mas.

Day 5 - Thursday
Today you are off for a two-day ride in the Luberon Natural Park. The morning ride will lead you towards Lourmarin through Provencal landscapes of olive trees, cherry orchards and Mediterranean forests. Lunch in Lourmarin and nap before leaving again in the afternoon to ride up the hills of the "Big Luberon". Breathtaking viewpoints on top of the hill to the Alps on the northern side, and on the Mediterranean Sea on the southern side. Accommodation tonight will be in an Inn in the heart of the Luberon hills.

Day 6 - Friday
You will ride back to the Mas following the Aiguebrun stream, the only permanent water course of the whole Luberon region! On the way, admire the perched village of Bonnieux.
After a good lunch, your horse will lead you through rolling hills to admire beautiful views on the Durance valley and the surrounding hills, such as the Montagne Sainte Victoire: the Cezanne’s mountain.
You will arrive at the Mas in late afternoon and take good care of your horse before letting him loose for a well-deserved rest. Dinner party for your last night at the Mas...!

Day 7 - Saturday
End of the trip after breakfast. Transfers to train stations or airport.
