During these weekends, outdoors, we invite you to disconnect from daily life. Lyons Forest is a huge and hilly 11000 hectares beech grove dotted with rivers in a countryside environment perfumed by the sea. The Bray country is a bocage region, quite wet and clayey, favourable to pastures, where we can enjoy nice rides in a preserved area, only 150 km away from Paris !
Here, friendliness is the keyword. For 2 days or more, you will enjoy escapes in nature, on our Icelandic or Irish horses. The life around horses, the fine cuisine and the nice atmosphere will make you feel brand new in this charming environment.

RIDE ITINERARY
WEEKEND IN LYONS FOREST
Day 1 - Friday
Meeting at the riding centre before 7pm. Our guide is waiting for us. We can relax with a nice dinner our guide cooked. During our meal, we prepare our weekend ride.
Night at the guesthouse.
Day 2 - Saturday
This morning, we have a hearty breakfast at 7am. We saddle up the horses and leave for a two hour ride when we can get to know our horses. At noon, we are back at the guesthouse and have a packed lunch made of local products. Then, we go riding again, in the woods, for the afternoon. Between plains and valleys, we enjoy nice paths where we can canter. We go back to the riding centre at 5pm, take care of the horses and gather around another nice dinner.
Night at the guesthouse.
Day 3 - Sunday
On the same rhythm, we meet our horses after a hearty breakfast. Today we ride in Lyons Forest, the biggest Norman forest. We stop for lunch in a village classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France : Lyons-la-Forêt. This charming village was built on the ancient spot of a fortress and kept the same plan. Every Sunday, there is a local market in Lyons-la-Forêt. We are back to the riding centre at the end of the afternoon.
We take care of the horses and we are free to leave at 6pm.
WEEKEND IN BRAY COUNTRY
Day 1
Meeting at the riding centre before 7pm. Our guide is waiting for us. We can relax with a nice dinner our guide cooked. During our meal, we prepare our weekend ride according to our wishes.
Night at the guesthouse.
Day 2 to 3 or Day 2 to 4 (depending on the chosen date)
Every morning, we wake up at 7am and have a hearty breakfast before leaving on horseback for 30 to 40km long rides. We go in Lyons Forest and Bray Country. Day after day, we discover a region preserved from mass tourism. This itinerary through small valleys goes by old windmills, castles, typical villages and bocage, but also through huge beech forests, which give wealth to this region. After a lunch break, we ride in these varied landscapes. Every evening, we go back to the riding centre around 5pm and take some time with the horses. During dinner, we prepare the ride for the day after (map reading, orientation, topography...).
Dinners and nights at the guesthouse.

HORSES, TACK AND RIDING EXPERIENCE
|
Horses
We use the Icelandic horse for his adaptability. It is a strong, generous and nice horse who can make his rider feel at ease and who can go everywhere during the ride. They are used to living in herds and are very good trail riding horses. Our taller horses are Irish Cobs.
Tack
We use Icelandic tack, slightly different from English tack. They look like dressage saddles and the seat is quite flat. The stirrups are quite long.

Recommended riding experience
