Horseback trail in Corsica - Mountain and Sea Trail - randonnée mer et montagne - départ spécial Cavall in Festa - Rando Cheval / Ride in France

Day 1 - Monday
Meeting point is at 9am at the equestrian centre to have a first contact with our horse and equipment. We prepare our luggage and horse, and we start our riding day along the Taviganu. For lunch, we have the picnic we carry riding at the former mill. In the afternoon, we ride in the riverside to reach the guesthouse in Sortipiani.

Day 2 - Tuesday
In the morning, we ride to Antisanti. Here, we have the picnic we carry riding. In the afternoon, the cork oaks-lined trails lead us towards the Oriental valley to arrive at Philippe’s sheep pen. We share a convivial moment with him and his friends.

Day 3 - Wednesday
After breakfast, we get on our horses and begin our ride to Antisanti village where we stop for a packed lunch. In the afternoon, we go on shadowy paths under cork oak trees towards the sheepfold where we stay for the night. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - Thursday
Today, we leave the citruses valley to reach the chestnut grove mountain. We have a picnic lunch under the Tallone arbors. In the afternoon, we explore an amazing forest, and ride through the fragrant bushes. After this hard riding trip, we meet up with our attendant at the guesthouse in Pianellu.

Day 5 - Friday
For this last day riding, we discover the Boziu scenic region. Escorted by the cows and pigs we ride to the Erbajolo peak, and have a picnic lunch nearby the fountain. In the afternoon, we ride back again towards Corte and its mountain display. After having groomed our horses, we have a last drink and say goodbye.

Our horses and required riding ability

Our horse tour center is an equestrian school as well, and provides you well-trained horses throughout the year.
They are essentially strong and holder Corsican horses.
Their high trustworthiness allows you to cross the most rugged trails (they are real goats!). Sometimes, you need to cross damaged paths on foot.

We use "Officer" saddles, similar to English saddles but much more convenient, particularly to carry the accessories. Saddlebags and holsters are available for you to carry your daily material.

Recommended riding ability
This tour is suitable for riders who feel at ease outdoor at the three gaits, even if the walk stays the main gait due to injured paths.
We cover an average of 30 kms per day, corresponding to about 5 hours riding daily. Consequently, it is necessary to have a good physical condition.

Good to know

Minors from 10 years old are accepted if accompanied by an adult; subject to suitable physical conditions and riding ability.
Maximum authorized weight: 100kg

Riding guest reviews

"First trail in Corsica : wonderful and very diverse landscapes, from mountain to sea, going through chestnut tree forests ; warm and friendly team ; small horses agile like chamois. And all of this with delicious corsican gastronomy, homemade jams, improvised concerts with guitar and bass in an old sheepfold facing the sea... To do again really quick!" - Anne-Lise F. (2014)
