ALSACE : Equestrian weekend in the Alsatian Mountains

Need a change of scenery ?

We suggest you to come relax in the mountains, in the heart of a protected site, full of history and legends.

Gallop in Alsatians Forests, escape for a weekend and meet up in the evening, with family or friends in our cottage with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Region of choice for horse riders and nature, the field "Champ du Feu" is located on the Alsatian side of the Vosges. Ranked "Zone natura 2000", you will be delighted with its landscapes that combine the bright colors of stubble and the dark green pine forests, the roundness of its mountains and gentle valleys, magnificent waterfalls and abundant and varied wildlife. The area is also loaded with stories and legends, has many vestiges: medieval castles, ancient churches, walls dating back to the pagan age ...

2 itineraries are possible: one for beginners and one for advanced riders.

From December to April, discover our weekend "Snow Passion" in Alsace!

ADVANCED RIDERS TRAIL (4-5h on horseback/day)

Day 1
Meeting at the riding centre at 9am. After the presentation of the center and the team we go to the stables where we can choose our horses. We leave for a first ride crossing the forest where we find large tracks to gallop. We stop at a point of view where we can see the Val de Villé.Lunch is taken at the equestrian center.
In the afternoon we ride through the plateaus of Haut Lachamp and Bas Lachamp which offer a vast panoramic view. We cross the small typical villages to arrive at the Col de la Perheux. We start the ascent of Mount St Jean while cantering with a 360-degree view! Dinner and overnight at the equestrian center.

Day 2

After breakfast, we leave for a day of hiking through the mountain scenery. We head towards Hohwald Waterfall, one of the nicest in Alsace. Lunch as a picnic then back at the equestrian centre by nice undergrowths where long gallops are waitng for us End of trail between 6 and 6:30pm.

BEGINNER RIDERS TRAIL (4h on horseback/day)

Day 1

Meeting at the riding centre at 9am. After visiting the equestrian center we go in the pen of Icelandic horses. These horses of small size are very comfortable and ideal to start riding. For the first half-day, we discover the animal, the different ways to communicate with him and his behavior with others. We also learn to prepare our horses for the ride, starting with the grooming, then the installation of the saddle. We start our day with riding in the career then we go for a walk in the forest nearby. We discuss the concepts of outdoor riding at our own pace and without apprehension. We have lunch at the equestrian center and we taste the local products accompanied by Alsatian wines.

In the afternoon, we get back in the saddle with our Icelandic horses towards the "top of the mountains." Here we enjoy a breathtaking view of the mountains and surrounding villages, the perfect place to try a first gallop!
Dinner and overnight at the equestrian center.

Day 2
After breakfast, we leave for our first day of hiking through the mountain scenery. We can choose to take an Icelandic or try a horse of a different race. We head to Mount St Jean. Once at the top, we settle for a country picnic. From here we have a 360-degree view of the mountains.Today we try to improve our horse balance and improve handling at the 3 gaits.
End of trail between 6 and 6:30pm.

A really tonic weekend ride for good riders or an active initiation for beginners. A good compromise for riders of different levels who travel together.
