MONT SAINT MICHEL : WEEK-ENDS ON HORSEBACK...

Known as the « Wonder of the Western World », the Mont Saint Michel forms a tower in the heart of an huge bay invaded by the highest tides in Europe. It was at the request of the Archangel Michel « chief of the celestial militia » that the Bishop of Avranches built and consecrated a small church during the 8th century. Over the centuries, a village grew up around the church on the rocky tidal island. The Mont Saint-Michel as been classed a world heritage in 1979 by UNESCO. Going from two to 4 days, we offer you differents rides around or through the Bay. RIDE ITINERARY

AROUND THE MONT SAINT MICHEL BAY - 2 days / 1 night - The Program

This ride on two days allows to approach the Bay since green See Valley, before crossing the big open spaces by the salty meadows. This ride will know how to charm you by the variety of its landscapes, with the crossing of herbus towards the Mont Saint-Michel.

LANDSCAPE OF THE BAY - 2 days / 1 night - The Program

The Mont Saint Michel and its bay are a major tourist set... Tthree million visitors are charmed every year by the vast areas of rock and herbus and by the bulwarks of the Archangel's rock.

AROUND THE MONT SAINT MICHEL BAY - 3 days / 2 nights - The Program

On horseback we concern another glance the Mont Saint Michel and its environment... Like the pilgrims formerly, mature your road discovering gradually the Bay in general and more particularly the Mount !

TO CANCALE'S BAY - 4 days / 3 nights - The Program

This four days trip suggests us to make lots of discoveries from the Mont Saint Michel's Bay to Cancale's Bay. We cross all the Bay in its surprising variety of landscapes … We ride together of the majestic "West Jewel" up to the Grouin, near the Corsair City of Saint-Malô...

Recommended riding experience

! THIS TRAIL IS NOT SUITABLE FOR NOVICE RIDERS !

For this trail you should be confident at all paces and an experienced rider. You should be able to jump small obstacles and control your horse when galoping on open spaces. You also need a bit of stamina to be able to ride from 5 to 6 hours a day.

At midday, lunch stop in the nature (picnic) and a full hot and traditionnal 3 courses meal will be served for dinner.

Meeting point is at Genêts for the "Around the Mont Saint Michel bay" ride and at "La Gohannière" for the 'Landscape of the bay" ride and the "4 days around the Bay".
Transfers can be arranged from Avranches train station at extra cost.

HEALTH

There are no specific health formalities and emergency medical treatment is as widely available in the country.

ENTRY FORMALITIES

A valid passport is required of all foreigners entering France, except people living from a Schengen agreement country for who a valid ID card is enough.

All foreign citizens who wish to come to France must be able to present regulatory proof of the purpose of their stay, means of support and accommodation. In some cases, they need a visa to enter France. Visas must be applied for before leaving for France at a French consular office.

France is a member of European Union. No visa is required for citizens of other EU states.

No visa is required for US visitors staying less than 3 months.
